About the Rising Star scheme

In association the National Youth Talent Academy, MTV Staying Alive have selected 12 talented young Kenyans to take part in the production of Shuga: Love, Sex, Money.

The Rising Stars initiative will offer once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for the passionate and committed individuals, all aged 18-24, to gain hands-on work experience in a professional production environment, along with a place at the National Youth Talent Academy to develop their skills with the Theatre and Film Department.

The winning applicants are being paired with professional mentors throughout the duration of the initiative, which aims to provide an exceptional group of young people with all the necessary skills needed to fulfil their future potential.
