My Partner Is Being Violent, What Should I Do?
Answer:
Know it is not your fault.
Ring these helplines for advice and someone to talk to.
If there is someone you trust – tell them. And try to stay in contact with them. If you are close to your neighbours ask them to ring the emergency services if they hear sounds of an attack.
Try and keep your phone nearby whenever possible. And know the emergency numbers for your country.
Pack an emergency bag and hide it.
Have a daily routine that allows you to leave the house e.g. taking the bins out. This can allow you to escape if necessary.
Park your car where it is easily accessible.
Avoid the kitchen and garage where there are more likely to be weapons.
You are not alone. You can receive online support from survivors at CHAYN.
