MTV Breaks X MTV Shuga Comic Book Competition

Are you an illustrator with serious talent looking to get your big break?

Then look no further! MTV Shuga: Down South has taken SA by storm, and now we want YOU to get in on the action. MTV Breaks is searching for creative illustrators and colourists to translate our multi-award winning TV drama, MTV Shuga: Down South, into an original comic book. If illustrating and colouring are what you do best, then ENTER NOW!

It couldn’t be more simple. All you have to do is draw one of the MTV Shuga: Down South cast members and upload it onto Instagram using the hashtag #MTVShugacomicbook. Your work will be judged by industry experts and if you make the final shortlist we’ll be in touch with further details about the next stage. Entries close Thursday 8 June 2017. Please read the full terms and conditions here.

Some of the terms include: You’ll need to be aged between 18-26, a South African resident available from 14th June to 29th September, and to not have worked professionally as an illustrator before.

As well as having the opportunity to get your work produced on an original MTV Shuga comic, you’ll also get:
• Commission to produce MTV Shuga: Down South comic book.
• Mentorship by award-winning creative, Loyise Mkhize.
• R5000 towards winners’ tuition fees.
