MTV Shuga: Down South has truly gone global! After our worldwide premieres of the new season in Joburg, Nairobi, and London, the Shugafam jetted over to Washington D.C. to share some of the key messages from the latest season.

At the heart of #MTVShugaDS is a TV show, but it tackles the kind of issues that young people face every day. These challenges were the topic of conversation over in D.C. on the 27th March, where our main man Given Stuurman, who plays the role of ‘Reggie’, and Executive Producer of the show Georgia Arnold shared an exclusive preview of some of the show’s important issues.

Georgia and Given were joined by Ross Murray (GLAAD) and Dr Angeli P. Achrekar (PEPFAR) on a panel discussion moderated by Lisa Stark (Education Week). Blessers, women empowerment, issues relating to the LGBTQ community, HIV prevention & testing, and much MUCH more were all covered in this thought-provoking conversation.
