The Big Reveal: Online and Public Auditions Shortlist for MTV Shuga 5

The time has finally come for us to reveal who made it onto the next stage of casting for MTV Shuga 5….

Over 1000 of South Africa’s hottest talent came through to Bassline in Jozi on 15^th October, to audition for a role in the upcoming MTV Shuga series. The skills on show were amazing, and we were blown away by the amount of talent you all possessed. You guys brought the heat, and even though we couldn’t see everyone, spending the day with our Shugafam made it all the more special.

The online response was pretty mad too. Over 400 people sent in their best impressions of Kwanele and Mandy. Ranging from cool, calm and collected to straight up funky, South Africa slayed!

Going through the public and online auditions (on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook) has meant weeks and weeks of work from our casting agents, looking for some local talent to join the new season of MTV Shuga. You guys did NOT make it easy for us to narrow down the list!

Yet, after a long and tough process we’re finally here. Below you can find a list of the people who have made it through to the next round from both the public and online auditions. Whilst we know it’s tough not getting through, please show some love for the people who have made it to the next round. It’s all love!
