Wetin dey shele everyone!
So…if you haven’t heard the news by now, let me be the first to share it with you…Shuga won two awards last week! Yep, you can now refer to us as a “multi-award-winning show”!
We won the Grand Award for Education and Gold Award for Edutainment at the World Media Festival, which took place in Hamburg last week. Epic right?!
In fact, the last few weeks have made me realise how loved Shuga is and how crazy about it people are *cue in Beyoncé’s Crazy In Love*.
And of course all that #ShugaLove is much appreciated! It makes #TeamShuga feel even more enthusiastic about what we do.
Check out a few of the shout outs we’ve gotten from Shuga fans:
I still can’t believe I’m part of Team Shuga, and my friends still have a hard-time believing I work at the MTV offices. I can’t blame them, even after a month it’s still sinking in for me.
Being hands-on with the production of Shuga has really helped me appreciate the value and change it creates. It’s amazing to see how Shuga has got people talking openly about sexual relationships and it’s even more amazing to hear about how Shuga has changed lives!
At Shuga HQ, no subject is considered a taboo—I’m still getting used to speaking about things that I would otherwise consider very private; I have definitely realised the positive change and outlook that comes with talking openly about things like the truth about pre-cum and safe sex.
I know a lot of people are getting restless; waiting for a new season of Shuga, but we do have plans to keep you guys entertained, June is going to be the start of something very exciting and that includes me meeting a couple of the
#ShugaStars! Buzzing with excitement!
Make sure to keep checking the blog and our social media to find out what crazy stuff I have planned for our #Shugastars. If any of our #ShugaFam have suggestions about what we can do with them, feel free to drop a comment below!
Can’t wait to hear what you guys think. Oya, chop chop! Haha.
Sending my #ShugaLove x
