Too busy to listen to Shuga this week? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Here’s the lowdown on this week’s Shuga Radio episode.

Roli constantly teases Patricia about liking Bitrus, especially since they’ve grown closer because of the Safe Sex Club. But Patricia is unsure of his feelings towards her. Roli then rejects Patricia’s invite to the Safe Sex Club, thinking she knows better and there’s nothing the club can teach her.

At the end of the Safe Sex Club, Chuks sings for the class, before Miss Uju revises what they learnt (i.e., that not having sex is chief in preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, followed by condoms”).

As the students leave class, Mrs Balogun storms in, accusing Miss Uju of giving her the wrong time, telling her she “is playing with fire”, and threatens to “finish” her.

Roli tells her parents that her “friend” has agreed to loan her N80 000 to pay off their debt to Baba Bose. Surprised but grateful, Roli’s parents praise her.

To stay in Soji’s good books, Chuks desperately tries to convince him that he’s not a virgin, saying that he’s slept with 10 girls; and uses condoms all the time. Soji merely laughs at him, calling him “the hammer prince”.

After all the mocking, however, Soji promises to take Chuks’s music far, telling him he can be his manager and will organise shows for him in Lagos and eventually…America!

Bitrus takes Patricia to Chikota Waterfall. After Patricia recites a short poem, Bitrus expresses how she sounds just like his secret admirer who has been writing letters to him. Patricia admits that she is the one that has been sending the anonymous love letters.

Patricia asks whether they’re now dating. Mumbling, Bitrus asks Patricia for her HIV status, saying it’s imperative if they get into a relationship.

Angry, Patricia storms off, saying it is not his business and that it’s a relief that they’re not dating.

In a drunken stupor, Mr Osagie disturbs Talatu while she’s studying. She offers to cook rice, but he grabs her. She screams and manages to escape, leaving Mr Osagie bleeding in the process.

Do you think Bitrus was right to ask for Patricia’s HIV status? And when in a relationship should such information be shared?
