Featuring in a host of films and popular productions, Rahama has taken the entertainment world by storm, and was crowned the ‘Face of Kannywood’ in 2016. Resilient, ambitious, determined.

Where’s home?
Home is where the heart is, and my heart is with my mum, so Kaduna is home.

Where’s your favourite spot in Naija?
My house.

What do you do to relax?
Watch movies or read.

What’s your favourite song on your playlist right now?

If you weren’t an actor, then you would be…
An Actor, I feel that it’s my destiny, there’s nothing like it.

Best piece of advice you ever received?
“Be patient Rahama. nothing that was meant for you will pass you. And anything that’s not meant for you will never reach you. So just sit back, be patient and let things play out like they’re supposed to”

What made you want to get involved in MTV Shuga?
I like projects that have a purpose. I like to tell stories that have lessons in them, stories that will make an impact on people. MTVShuga is entertaining and educative. Those were the deciding factors for me.

What social issues covered in the show are close to your heart?
Building self-confidence and self-awareness in order to combat peer pressure.

What are you most looking forward to about the new season of MTV Shuga in Nigeria?
I can’t wait for people to meet Yasmin. And I hope people will learn from the stories.
