We have nearly reached the end of this season of Shuga Radio, but don’t fret. If you’ve missed out on this week’s episode, here’s a recap of what went on.
Patricia confides in Roli that she and Bitrus are planning to start having sex and quizzes Roli about her first time.
When the issue of contraception is brought up, Patricia tells Roli that she and Bitrus have decided to use condoms, much to Roli’s disapproval who doesn’t think Bitrus looks like someone who could infect her. Patricia argues that guys cannot be trusted and may sleep with other girls, who in turn sleep with other boys; and therefore increases the risk of infection. Roli gets offended as she and Hassan do not use protection.
Miss Uju visits Nurse Ekaette with Dede for an HIV test and STI screening. Nurse Ekaete reassures Dede that being positive does not mean the end of life for him.
Mr Osagie shouts at Mrs Osagie for suspecting him of attempting to sexually abuse Talatu. He reminds her that she remains his wife and should not question him.
Dede receives his test results. It turns out he is negative; but has to go back after the “window period” (ie, the 3–month period during which HIV becomes detectable).
Bitrus attempts to download a mojo film, but is mocked by both Soji and Adamu. Though Bitrus insists it’s for a biology test, they both tell him not to deny that he wants to watch it in preparation for sex.
Roli grows concerned that Hassan might not be trustworthy and decides to take a break from their relationship until they make a decision on their use of condoms.
Mr Osagie is arrested for the attempted rape and sexual abuse of Talatu, and although he proclaims his innocence, agrees to be taken into custody.
Do you think Roli did the right thing by leaving her boyfriend because he refused to use condoms? Was it necessary for Bitrus to get home movies to prepare for his first time with Patricia?
