Over the past few weeks we’ve been taking a closer look at the MTV Shuga ladies and we picked three that stood out for being great role models.

First, we looked at all the why reasons Sheila slayed, from the way she handled the situation with her family to her unconditional support for Femi. We swiftly moved on to why Bongi was so badass – from her no-nonsense talking, to following through on her dreams.

And today we complete the ‘power of the MTV Shuga women’ trilogy by looking at the one and only Eniola.

Eniola
Why Eniola you might ask? She may not be an obvious choice, but it’s sometimes the women behind the scenes that are holding things together. Eniola had clearly been through some troubled times but this only made her more of a role model for Princess.

Her hardship was her way of helping Princess come to terms with being HIV positive and pregnant, which really just goes to show, that sharing your journey can help someone else along theirs.

Not only was she a backbone for her mentee, she was also a great peacekeeper. A lot of times, people will come along to stir the pot and when issues arise it can be easy to take sides. But Eniola was able to see both Princess’s good and bad points, as well as Sophie’s, and helped them communicate.

Eniola was no wallflower; she knew when to speak her mind and how to make a point with just a look and a few words.

There’s a lot to be said for a woman that can hold her own in any circumstance. Eniola is one such woman!

So there you have it, Shugafam. We have shared with you why Eniola, Bongi and Sheila deserved the ‘Power of a Woman’ title.

Let us know your thoughts on who inspired you in MTV Shuga!
