A guy’s guide on how to prepare for that all important date.

1.    Dress to impress
If the girl of your dreams has agreed to a Valentine’s date with you then you’ll want to pull out all the stops. That means no hoodies, track suit, or anything that resembles gym gear. You want to look good, so put some thought into it. It’s probably best to organisze what you’re going to wear the night before. But be sure not to over dress, she said yes to date you, not James Bond. Dress like you made an effort but not like you’re going to propose.

2.    Prepare beforehand
Make sure you have a date plan. It’s not always about a movie and a meal, think outside the box.. Your date will appreciate the thought.

3.    Be you
You’re going to want to make an impression, but you should always remember to be yourself. Clearly, she likes something about you so why change for one night?

4.    Don’t take yourself too seriously
When you’re on a date that’s your time to chill out and enjoy the moment. Your date isn’t going to enjoy herself if you aren’t. If she sees that you’re comfortable that will make her comfortable.

5.    Make conversation
We’ve all be in that awkward- silence situation. As weird as it sounds you should never force a conversation, let it flow naturally. If it does end up getting a bit quite have a couple of topics ready.

6.    Step away from the phone
Your attention should be on your date, so don’t get distracted by your phone. Turn it on silent.
